Referred to as "Little Norway," the city of Poulsbo was first settled in the late 1800's by Norwegian loggers, farmers, and fishermen. They flocked to this area because it reminded them of the fjord-type landscape of their homeland.

Front Street is the main thoroughfare through the older section of downtown Poulsbo, and offers a very quaint and colorful Scandinavian flavor. You'll discover the creative expressions and wares of local artisans, or taste the culinary delights for world-class bakeries and restaurants.

The community of Poulsbo offers many seasonal festivals and celebrations throughtout the year, from the popular Viking Fest in May to the Christmas Boat Parade in December.

The Port of Poulsbo guest marina is open year-round and has over 100 visitor slips. They offer full marina services, including fuel and sanitary dump. The marina is conveniently located within walking distance of the downtown area shops and restaurants.

There is a great waterfront park right next to the marina that makes a perfect spot for picnics. A free concert series is offered during the Summer.

Poulsbo is on Liberty Bay in Kitsap County, Washington. It is the third largest city in Kitsap County and one of the larger suburbs on the Kitsap Peninsula. The population was 7,808 at the 2006 census.
